Conquering the what if’s

In my latest Instagram post, I reflected on my journey just days before my birthday, realizing how far I’ve come as I approach my mid-40s. As a Master Pilates Instructor and studio owner, perfectionism is my default mode. But thanks to the mentorship of the eLevate Master’s Program and my community with Lesley Logan @profitablepilates, I’ve learned the power of taking messy action, as she likes to phrase it. It’s been a challenge for someone like me who thrives on control and perfection.

During the program, I found the courage to step back from things I knew I could do, but perhaps shouldn’t. It was humbling, considering I’ve been immersed in Pilates since 2010. Embracing the messiness of learning, adapting to changing bodies, and granting myself grace in applying new skills has been transformative. Recovery, business building—everything can be messy.

This journey taught me to silence the negativity of perfectionism and doubt, especially in the face of setbacks like injuries or fears. Last year, I encountered several obstacles, but Pilates has shown me it’s not just exercise—it’s a path to reclaiming and shaping the life I desire. Pilates isn’t just a workout; it’s a way of life, aligning everything around you when practiced regularly.

If you're a perfectionist like me or if you've been contemplating making changes in your life by incorporating Pilates but haven't taken the leap because you don't feel 'in shape' enough, lack the right attire, or worry about not having enough experience or doing it perfectly, my studio is the perfect place for you.

Let's throw out inhibitions, toss perfectionism out the window, and make a mess together. Pilates is all about embracing the journey and having fun, so let's get creative and explore the possibilities together.
