about me

I have always felt that teaching and helping others comes naturally to me. I have been an astute athlete my entire life and focused on track and gymnastics during my youth for over 10 years. In college, I coached gymnastics starting from the ages 1 to 18 years old for 4 years. My love for coaching motivated me to leave the busy life of a commercial real estate agent and become a Certified Pilates Instructor.

Overcoming injuries and being a mother

After a car accident in my early 20s, I was no longer able to achieve my previous workouts and had to look for alternative solutions to overcome my injuries and continue to stay healthy. Pilates became a form of physical therapy from that point on to work through injuries, gain strength and meet my health and wellness goals. During my certification process in 2010, I had another car accident and later on had my daughter. There is not a lot of chatter on childbirth injuries to the mother. During the time when I had the epidural, I tore my hip labrum. I was not able to walk for weeks and had to undergo months of prolotherapy to avoid surgery during the first few months after delivery.

During that time, I used Pilates to again rehabilitate my body from neck, back, and hip injuries to regain the strength to sustain another pregnancy and delivery.

With my vast knowledge of how Pilates can help combined with my personal experience,  I can relate to my clientele and help each and every one of them with their health and wellness goals.

My clients have ranged from parents, athletes, adolescents, children, and seniors. I have been able to help them with pain reduction, manage stress, correct imbalances within the body, and increase their range of motion. The strength Pilates has given them allowed them to move freely while minimizing injuries.

I use my Pilates training and personal experience to help my clients achieve any goal they face. I apply the knowledge and training I gained to help others. If you are recovering from an injury, looking to enhance your physical or sports performance, get in shape or just feel good about your body, I can help.

Pilates education

Jennifer is a graduate of the Equinox Pilates Training Institute and completed over 450 hours of Pilates training. In 2019 she took a bridge program through Equinox and went through a year of the Pilates training program a second time.

The education included self-practice, anatomy, voice training, teaching skills, business development, and Private Pilates instruction. The comprehensive program included classical Pilates training from beginning to advanced exercises on the Mat, Reformer, Wunda Chair, High Chair, Cadillac, Ped-o-Pull, and Barrels.

I joined Coldwell Banker Commercial in 2007 specializing in the sale and leasing of office and retail properties. Throughout my career, I closed many transactions in Venice Beach and Santa Monica. I was responsible for executing Lease contracts and Purchase of Sale Agreements and wrote Letters of Intent for Tenants looking to occupy space. I performed all marketing necessary to showcase our current properties for sale or lease and also sent out quarterly newsletters highlighting properties sold and leased and other relevant information for readers to stay current with what was happening in their city.

 I spent the first 3 years of my real estate career working as a Property Management Supervisor specializing as a Title Administrator/Researcher and Operations Analyst.

 I also specialized in Manager Relations in which I supported Property Managers with daily operations of the properties and experience in property/Asset Management.

 I graduated from Pepperdine University where I studied Telecommunication major and Theater minor. After college, I started my career in Production where I worked closely with all talents for multiple reality television shows. Some of the duties included assisting talent while on set, organizing events, and their daily activities. Television shows include: Joe Schmo 2, American Dream Derby, We're With the Band, Hell's Kitchen, Shop 'Til You Drop, and Invasion Iowa.

what to expect

Your Pilates session will work the entire body in a 55-minute session. We use different pieces of Pilates equipment to stretch and strengthen your muscles through controlled, low-impact, repetitive movements using springs and straps to assist and stabilize the body during each exercise. These controlled exercises will create body awareness, increase flexibility, and create an overall musculature tone that can minimize injury, improve posture, strengthen the core and increase the body’s range of motion.

Pilates will enhance your fitness goals and also help correct imbalances within the body caused by repetitive movement, injuries, or weakness. Pilates is a form of functional exercise that will increase stamina and strength. All Pilates excerises stem from core connection to the rest of the body creating overall, improved function.

I can design a program specifically for you so we can alleviate pain, and enhance your fitness goals. I can get you functioning to a more optimum level so you look and feel great.

This functional movement is applicable to everyday life from raising kids, working out in a gym, sports, etc.

Pilates will activate the smaller stabilizing muscle groups which will lead to increased strength in the larger muscles and activate the core muscles maximizing movement potential and minimizing injuries.
